Fuji Xerox Management ignore workers’ requests to negotiate a fair outcome

April 20, 2009

profits3Fuji Xerox Management are refusing to negotiate a new agreement with their workers instead using the global financial as the reason to ‘drive down’ wages.  The question is however: How are Fuji Xerox really performing financially?

If you believe the reasoning management has given for their latest refusal to move on their wage offer, it would be quite logical to assume that the Australian operations are in deep financial trouble.  Fuji Xerox Management maintain however that this is not the case but the difference between the union’s position in wage negotiations leads us to conclude either that Fuji Xerox Management in Australia are simply using the Global Financial Crisis as a convenient tactic to drive down wages or they are in serious financial trouble.

No one it seems from management are willing to meet with the union and explain the company’s position.  The union through correspondence has requested to meet with senior management but the Managing Director – Mr Andy Lambert has refused our request instead directing us to ‘local management’ who have also refused to meet with the union, instead attempting to have ‘direct’ discussions with staff.  The union and its members are left with no choice other than to pursue a campaign against Fuji Xerox that concludes in a fair outcome for NUW members.
